In Oct 2011, Air China conducted test flights using a blend of traditional petroleum-based jet fuel and jet biofuel derived from Jatropha seeds. The flight (Boeing 747-400) lasted one hour around Beijing airport. Other airlines which have done similar test flights using a Jatropha fuel mix are Air New Zealand (2008), Continental Airlines (2009), and Interjet (2011).
